This seam clapper is handmade by John Hudish.  With over 10 years of fine woodworking experience, he too enjoys the beauty and art of creating intriguing geometric designs, only with wood! John's craftsmanship and Maddy's quilting experience come together in a tool design that creates beautiful, flat, crisp seams.

A seam clapper works by absorbing heat and moisture from a freshly steamed seam. Placed over the fabric as it cools, the raw hardwood locks fibers into position creating sharp creases and flat seams without scorching or shine.

• Artistic overlays created from a variety of exotic hardwoods - you pick your own for a custom clapper.
• Raw hardwood base for optimal steam absorption
• Small‑batch craftsmanship

Care:
Keep bottom of base unfinished for best performance. Wipe lightly with a damp cloth to clean —never soak.  Apply additional oil finish on top and sides as needed. Odie's Oil is used for initial sealing.  If  steam absorption decreases, lightly sand bottom with 180–400 grit sandpaper to expose fresh wood.

Each clapper is handmade individually; wood grain will vary slightly and overlay may be mirrored, otherwise design is as pictured.
